David was introduced to dance while in college. He joined a small club that got together once weekly to learn basic salsa on 1. After graduating, he began training with Con Afinkue's first team under the direction of JC Labio, America's new dance sensation.

David's inspiration for dancing stems from his attraction to salsa music. He loves watching social dancing to live music. His favorite routine is Hacha y Machete's rendition of Silencio and his favorite dancer is Juan Matos. These two elements are what pushed him into dancing consistently.

When not dancing, David enjoys jamming to Rock Band, drinking dirty martinis, and eating. His favorite restaurant is Ray's Sushi in heart of lovely Hayward.
