Brian’s passion for salsa stems from playing Jazz guitar and expressing himself musically. Being exposed to jazz music opened up a new musical door to Afro Latin Funk and Latin Jazz.
Brian was exposed to Salsa in Minneapolis and started dancing salsa on the East coast in New York while finishing is Masters degree in Human Computer Interaction & Web Applicaiton Development. He was part of the Inikori Dance Company where he learned the fundamentals of technique and partnering.
Over the past six years he has attended several Salsa Congresses and festivals in Montreal, New York City, Toronto, DC, Boston, Los Angeles & San Francisco.
After several years of building skills in parterning and technique on the East coast he turned his focus toward incorporating fluid, Afro Cuban bodymovements into his dancing which led him to join the Afinkao Dance Company. He enjoys social dancing with everyone at all dance levels. Ask him for a dance when you see him at socials!
When not dancing, Brian enjoys photography,cooking, exploring new places, hiking, biking & swimming.
